 Psalm  23
Opening Prayer
Responsive Reading 579 Comfort
This is what the Lord says— He who created you:
Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name;
You are mine. When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you; And when you pass through the rivers
They will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire,
You will not be burned. I am the Lord, your God.
So do not fear, for I am with you; Do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
When you call on me, I will listen to you.
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest.
“Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, and you will find rest for your souls.”

Responsive Reading 319 Justification by Faith
Since We have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
Through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand.
And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.
We also rejoice in or sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance,
Ad perseverance produces character, And character produces hope.
Hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit,
whom he has given us. At just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.
Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man,
Though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die.
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this:
While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
We rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Through him we have now received reconciliation.

Responsive Reading 373 The New Birth
There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a member of the Jewish ruling council.
He came to Jesus at night and said,
“Rabbi, we know you are a teacher who has come from God.
For no one could perform the miraculous signs you are doing if God were not with him.”
In reply Jesus declared, “I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again”
“How can a man be born when he is old?” Nicodemus asked.
“Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb to be born!”
Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.
You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’
“The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going.
“So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” “How can this be?” Nicodemus asked.
Jesus replied, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,
that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

Responsive Reading #385 Salvation by Grace
Because of his  great love for us, God who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions- it is by grace you have been saved.
From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another.
For the law was given to Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many!
The law was added so that the trespass might increase.
But where sin increased, grace increased all the more,
So that just as sin reigned in death,
So also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.
In order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his
grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith- and this not from yourselves.
It is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast.

Responsive Reading #89 God’s Love
Dear friends, let us love one another for love comes from God.
Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us:
He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us.
And sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
If we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
We know that we live in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.
If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in
God. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God and God in him.

Responsive Reading #514 Purity of Heart
How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!
And that is what we are!
Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known.
But we know that when He appears, we shall be like Him, for we shall see him as he is.
Everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. This is how we know what love is:
Jesus Christ laid down His life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.
If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him,
how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words, but with actions and in truth.
This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in His presence whenever our hearts condemn us.
For God is greater than our hearts, and He knows everything.
Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God
And receive from Him anything we ask, because we obey His commands and do what pleases Him.
