Psalm 85:10-13
Responsive Reading and lighting of the Advent candle: #159 Messiah Brings Peace
A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse:
From his roots a Branch will bear much fruit.
The Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him –
The Spirit of wisdom and of understanding,
The Spirit of counsel and power,
The Spirit of knowledge and of fear of the Lord –
And He will delight in the fear of the Lord.
He will not judge by what He sees with His eyes,
Or decide by what he hears with His ears;
But with righteousness He will judge the needy, with justice, He will give decisions for the poor of the earth.
The wolf will live with the lamb.
The leopard will lie down with the goat,
They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain,
For the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.

Responsive Reading and lighting of the Advent candle: #158 Our God Comes
The Lord God of Israel said, “I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me.”
A voice of one calling in the desert, “prepare the way for the Lord;
“Make straight in the wilderness a highway for our God.
“Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low:
“The rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain.
“And the glory of the Lord will be revealed and all mankind together will see it.
“For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”
The sovereign Lord comes with power, and his arm rules for him.
His reward is with him, and his recompense accompanies him.
He tends his flock like a shepherd: he gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart.

Responsive Reading #777 Thanksgiving
Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving And his courts with praise;
Give thanks to him and praise his name. Glorify the Lord with me;
Let us exalt his name together. Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise. Glorius and majestic are his deeds,
And his righteousness endures forever.
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness;
Come before him with joyful songs. Sing to him, sing praise to him; Tell of all his wonderful acts.
I love the Lord, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy.
Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live.
Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.
How can I repay the Lord for all his goodness to me?
I will sacrifice a thank offering… And call on the name of the Lord.

Responsive Reading #1 Sing to the Lord
Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord;
Let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come before him with thanksgiving.
Let us extol him with music and song
For the Lord is the great God,
The great King above all gods.
In his hand are the depths of the earth,
And the mountain peaks belong to him,
The sea is his, for he made it,
And his hands formed the dry land.
Come, let us bow down in worship,
Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker;
For He is our God,
And we are the people of His pasture.
Come let us sing for joy to the Lord:
Let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.

Responsive Reading #22 God’s Dominion
The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it,
The world, and all who live in it;
For he founded it upon the seas
And established it upon the waters.
Who may ascend to the hill of the Lord?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart.
Who may stand in His holy place?
He who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false.
He will receive blessing from the Lord.
And vindication from God his Savior.
Such is the generation of those who seek him.
Who seek your face, O God of Jacob.
Lift up your heads, O you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors.
That the King of glory may come in.
Who is the King of glory?
The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.
Lift up your heads, O you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors.
That the King of glory may come in.
Who is he, this King of glory?
The Lord Almighty – he is the King of glory

Responsive Reading #394 Consider His Great Love
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.
Let the redeemed of the Lord say this- those he redeemed from the hand of the foe.
Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men.
He turned the desert into pools of water and the parched ground into flowing springs;
There he brought the hungry to live. They sowed fields and planted vineyards that yielded a fruitful harvest.
He blessed them, and their numbers greatly increased.
He lifted the needy out of their affliction and increased their families like flocks.
The upright see and rejoice. Whoever is wise, let him consider the great love of the Lord.
